Southampton Scrapstore collects and holds a wide variety of waste materials, donated by local businesses, which are then re-used in the community for arts and craft projects and events. Stop Trident march and rally: Southampton CND & Southampton People’s Assembly have organised a coach to the CND demonstration in London. Sat 27th Feb, 8.30am – Southampton City Centre, by the Cenotaph Monument.
And coming up in March there is the SanEco student conference (Sat 5th); Southampton Repair Cafe (Sat 5th); My Journey ‘Best Way to Work’ conference (Weds 9th); CURB at Itchen Valley Country Park (Sat 12th); Dangerous Ideas possible Food Justice event (Weds 16th); and of course WWF’s Earth Hour on (Sat 19th).
If you are looking further afield, there are events organised by Winchester Action on Climate Change, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, Transition Town Romsey, New Forest Transition and Waterside and Hythe. In addition, Hedge End Town Council are looking for conservation volunteers.
